Boonville teen arrested after allegedly crashing car while intoxicated

COOPER COUNTY, Mo. — A car crash in the early morning hours of Sunday left a teenager minorly injured and potentially facing legal trouble in Cooper County.

At 1:15 a.m. Sunday, Missouri State Highway Patrol reports being summoned to Route F at Route B. Upon arrival, they discovered 18-year-old Hayden Dufur, of Boonville, failed to stop at a stop sign. He then struck an embankment, causing minor injuries.

Dufur refused treatment at the scene, but responding officers discovered that Dufur was allegedly intoxicated. He was preliminarily charged with a DWI – first offense.

Dufur was taken to Cooper County Jail, where he was listed as bondable.

Future court dates are pending.


Higginsville man suspected of drug possession jailed after arrest

CALDWELL COUNTY, MO – The arrest of a Higginsville man took place Sunday afternoon, according to a Highway Patrol report.

Informal charges were listed against Ricardo Fernandez, 27, of Higginsville including possession of heroin, and amphetamines. Additional charges were for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, and operating without a license to drive.

He was taken to Caldwell County Detention Center and placed on a 24-hour observation.

Informal charges follow crash involving Deepwater resident

HENRY COUNTY, MO – A Henry County crash resulted in recommended charges for a resident of Deepwater.

According to Highway Patrol reports of the accident indicate Marvin Hills, 78, was the driver of a vehicle that traveled off southbound 7 Highway at Route U in Henry County Monday afternoon. Hills was attempting to round a curve. He was informally charged with felony driving while intoxicated, driving while revoked, and no insurance.

Hills was released from custody for treatment of minor injuries at Golden Valley Hospital.

Bond reduction approved in Moberly assault case

HUNTSVILLE, MO – A motion hearing Tuesday entertained a bond reduction motion for a woman accused of assault on a police officer.

Charges for assault and unlawful exhibiting were made against Katherine Lucas, 40, of Huntsville from December last year. The allegations stem from a traffic stop in which she allegedly attempted to stab a Moberly police officer with a screwdriver. At the hearing yesterday, Lucas was granted the reduction, in the form of an own-recognizance bond. She is not to have contact with a co-defendant in the case. Court records noted the decision partly hinged upon the fact Lucas had no prior criminal history.

Involuntary manslaughter case resumes in Carrollton

CARROLLTON, MO – A manslaughter case involving a Carrollton resident is scheduled to continue this Tuesday.

Prosecutors allege, Blake Lee Wilson, 21, is to blame for a vehicle crash in December 2017 that killed two passengers. Two felony counts of involuntary manslaughter were brought against Wilson for the deaths of Teagan Birdno, and Matthew Landi.

A hearing in Carroll County this morning is at 11:30 a.m.

Drugs allegedly found during Miller County traffic stop

MILLER COUNTY, Mo. — An Osage Beach woman is facing felony allegations after an arrest in Miller County Wednesday.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 21-year-old Katie M. Griffin was arrested with drugs around 12:25 a.m.

Miller is preliminarily charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was taken to the Miller County Jail, where she was listed as bondable.

Sedalia man arrested after vehicle search discovers drugs

TIPTON, MO – A driver from Sedalia was arrested Tuesday during a vehicle stop in Moniteau County.

Deputies stopped a vehicle with no front license plate, driven by Cody Edgar, 20. According to the sheriff’s office, Edgar was unable to answer questions, and behaved nervously. He denied a search of his vehicle before a K-9 unit was deployed which alerted deputies to possible drugs in the vehicle. During a subsequent search, methamphetamine, and paraphernalia were found and seized.

Edgar was detained at Moniteau County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond. Court records Wednesday indicate a formal felony charge of controlled substance possession after a warrant was obtained.

Excelsior resident detained on warrant for drug possession

RAY COUNTY, MO – An Excelsior Springs resident, arrested by Highway Patrol Wednesday morning, faces multiple felony charges according to court records.

State troopers arrested old Roger Tabor, 31, on a Ray County warrant for felonies including possession of controlled substances, unlawful possession, and use of a firearm, driving while revoked, and receiving stolen property. Tabor was taken to Ray County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bond.

Future court dates have not been scheduled.


Hearing continued in railway bridge fire

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mo. – A setting preliminary hearing for a Chillicothe woman accused of setting fire to a railway bridge has been put off a week in Livingston County.

The court continued the case of Destanie Dawn Batson, 23, to next Wednesday, January 13, at 9 o’clock in the morning. Batson, James P. E. Haight and Kyle Jacob Mace are each charged with first degree knowingly burning and property damage. An investigation led the their arrest in connection to an intentional fire on the Canadian Pacific railroad bridge South of Chillicothe.

The court did grant a reduction of Batson’s bond to 10% cash of the $25,000 bond.

Bates County court delays hearing in drug trafficking case

BATES COUNTY, Mo. – A pre-trial conference in a Bates County drug trafficking case has been postponed for two weeks.

The hearing Thursday for Kyle P. Calhoun, 31, of Harrisonville, was continued until Wednesday, January 23rd at 9 o’clock in the morning. Calhoun and a co-defendant, Christopher C. Zumwalt of Cleveland, Mo., was stopped in a stolen vehicle by a Bates County deputy. Zumwalt handed over methamphetamine during the arrest. At their booking at the county jail, approximately 41 grams of methamphetamine was found in Calhoun’s possession.

Calhoun is charged with second degree drug trafficking and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Drug bust results in charges against Brookfield residents

LINN COUNTY, MO – A drug bust in Linn County resulted in warrants served to Brookfield residents this week.

Court documents indicate Tinika Brown, 35, and Nola Glasgow, 31, were taken into custody for delivery of a controlled substance. According to a probable cause statement, an investigation, January 9 determined Glasgow distributed methamphetamine to Brown, who in turn, distributed to a confidential informant to law enforcement.

Bond amounts include $50,000, and $25,000, respectively for Glasgow and Brown. Court dates have not been established.

State troopers arrest two on ICE detainers

DAVIESS COUNTY, MO – Out of state residents were arrested during separate incidents in Daviess County.

Residents of Kansas City, and St. Paul, MN were apprehended in Daviess County by Highway Patrol Monday afternoon. Arrests of Saul Calderon-Gutierrez, and Genaro Nunez were precipitated by fugitive status from out of state. Detainers had also been issued by Immigration and Customs Enforcement for both men.

Arrest reports also indicated Nunez was in felony possession of controlled substances. Calderon-Gutierrez was not in possession of a valid license. He is currently held in Daviess-Dekalb Regional Jail without bond.

Drug allegations leveled against out-of-state resident in Lafayette County

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo. — A resident of Florida is facing felony allegations following their arrest in Lafayette County around midnight Wednesday.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, troopers arrested Beitra Yuneiki, 26, of Miami, Florida, for alleged drug possession.

Yuneiki is preliminarily charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

Yuneiki was transferred to the Lafayette County Jail, where she was processed and released pending the filing of formal charges in a Lafayette County courtroom.

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, MO – A Buckner man faces felony drug charges after an arrest in Lafayette County.

Highway patrol reports Phillip Lowery, 26, was released on summons after his arrest. Charges include possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, and paraphernalia, as well as no valid registration.

Formal charges are pending.

Driver facing allegations for suspended driving and no license

CHARITON COUNTY, MO – Highway Patrol arrested a Mendon man Wednesday morning.

An arrest report indicates Jeffrey Dougherty, 21, was taken into custody in response to warrants issued by Linn and Dekalb Counties for driving while suspended and without a license. A second, informal charge of driving while suspended was added to the report by troopers.

Dougherty was taken to Chariton County Jail in lieu of bond.


Out of state warrant leads to arrest of KC resident

CLAY COUNTY, MO – An arrest was made this afternoon of a Kansas City resident wanted for an out of state warrant.

State troopers took into custody Adela Guzman, 35, for a Texas felony warrant citing dangerous drugs and stealing. Guzman was taken to Clay County Jail for a preliminary investigation.

Troopers make arrest citing meth possession in Johnson County

JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – An arrest in Johnson County led to the arrest of a Gladstone resident on felony allegations.

The arrest this afternoon of Jamie Langton, 32, was for alleged methamphetamine and marijuana possession, according to an incident report. Langton was also listed as the subject of a misdemeanor warrant out of Pettis County for failure to appear on a charge of driving while suspended.

She was released from custody after an initial holding period at Johnson County Jail.

RAY COUNTY, Mo. – An Excelsior Springs man is facing a felony drug allegation in Ray County.

The arrest report from Troop A of the Missouri Highway Patrol says Tyler R. Campbell, 19, was arrested just after 11:00 p.m. Saturday night. According to the report, Campbell is alleged to have been in felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Campbell remains on a 24 hour hold as he awaits the filing of formal charges.

DEKALB COUNTY, MO – A resident of Union Star was arrested by state troopers in Dekalb County Sunday and held on suspicion of intoxicated driving.

The arrest report names Bobby Buckler, 35, as informally charged with driving while intoxicated by drugs, C&I driving, failure to drive on right half of roadway, no insurance, and failure to signal.

Buckler was taken to Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail for a 24-hr holding period.

Drug case proceeds in Moniteau County

MONITEAU COUNTY, MO – An Eldon resident facing felony drug charges is scheduled for a court date Tuesday morning in Moniteau County.

The defendant, Timothy D. Nicholas, 50, was arrested August last year after a vehicle investigation by deputies in California, Missouri resulted in the seizure of a substantial amount of methamphetamine. Nicholas is to update the court as to the status of his legal representation. He is currently released on his own recognizance.

A second defendant arrested during the same incident, Angela Gagnier, 30, has a hearing scheduled for February.
