Following execution of a search warrant in Columbia yesterday, officers arrested 31 year old, Gary Deangelo Warren of Columbia and charged him with possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.
A confidential informant identified Warren as his supplier.
The informant, at the direction of police officers, sent text messages to Warren arranging to purchase 8 ounces of meth.
Warren was arrested when he arrived at the meeting place for the sale.
He was carrying a plastic bag with approximately 13 grams of suspected meth, a loaded Jimenez Arms .38 caliber semi-automatic pistol and officers found approximately 472 grams of meth in a shoebox inside the vehicle Warren was driving at the time of the arrest.
