Moberly man drives into home while attempted to evade officers

UPDATE:  7 p.m. – Moberly police arrested the driver of a motor vehicle in the early morning Sunday after it caused damage to a residential structure.

A press release Sunday evening from Moberly Police Department says the incident occurred in the 300 block of McKinsey Street, when a 2013 Kia Rio driven by Shawn Christopher Reese, 42, failed to stop at an intersection, and hit the structure. Occupants inside the residence were reportedly uninjured. Reese was hospitalized with minor injuries before being transferred to Randolph County Justice Center. He faces preliminary charges including driving while intoxicated, possession of methamphetamine, and resisting arrest. Formal charges are pending the conclusion of an investigation by law enforcement.

A passenger in the vehicle, Elizabeth Louise Sibit, 40, was not injured. 

MOBERLY, Mo. — The Moberly has arrested a man after a chase ended when the subject ran into a residence.

According to a news release from the Moberly Police Department, early this morning, a 42 year old man was apprehended after attempting to flee from officers, he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle collided with an occupied residence. No one inside the residence was injured and the home sustained major damage.

The man, whose identity has not been released, has been charged with driving while revoked, resisting arrest by fleeing creating a substantial risk, driving while intoxicated, possession of methamphetamine, and resisting/interfering with arrest.

He was taken to an area hospital for the treatment of injuries and then transported to the Randolph County Justice Center pending filing of formal charges.
