Driving while intoxicated causes Moberly man to crash vehicle near Macon

MACON, Mo. — A Moberly man was arrested following a crash this morning. According to a crash report, James McLaughlin, 24, of Moberly was southbound at 5:06 this morning on Highway 36, two miles south of Macon. McLaughlin’s vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole.

After the accident, McLaughlin was cited for driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving, no insurance, and no seat belt.

He was released to Samaritan Hospital for the treatment of moderate injuries.
