CAMERON, MO – A traffic stop early Monday was initiated by Dekalb County Sheriff after the vehicle plates were found to be registered to a man with warrants out of St. Joseph.
According to St. Joseph News Press, the man provided no identification, and was taken to Cameron Police Department for fingerprinting. He was identified as Rodolpho Hernandez, 32, of St. Joseph. After leaving the station with an officer, Hernandez escaped from custody, and fled on foot, evading authorities for several hours in Cameron. He was later found in a shed, using a grinder in an attempt to free himself from handcuffs.
Formal charges are pending.
