Bizarre traffic incident results in death of Moberly man

HUNTSVILLE, MO – One Moberly man is dead, and another charged with indirect involvement in the aftermath of a bizarre traffic incident Monday night.

A report from Missouri Highway Patrol says, Asher R. Kimbrough, 25 of Moberly was pronounced dead at Moberly Regional Medical Center after allegedly falling from the roof of a moving vehicle on County Road 1235, 1.5 miles north of Huntsville. The report says, Kimbrough landed in the roadway, but does not indicate the exact cause of death.

The driver of the vehicle, Jacob W. Gerhard, 26 of Moberly was informally charged with a felony for driving while intoxicated, causing the death of another person.  Additional charges include, careless and imprudent driving, and possession of marijuana.  Gerhard was taken to Randolph County Jail in lieu of bond.
