SALINE COUNTY, Mo. — New details are emerging about an arrest following a vehicle stop in Saline County on Wednesday.

Talia Ugolini

According to a probable cause statement filed in Saline County, law enforcement received reports of a vehicle driving erratically on Interstate 70 just after 9:00 p.m. Wednesday.

When officers ran the plates on the car, they came back to a vehicle that was reported stolen in Columbia on Sunday.

A trooper reportedly pulled over the vehicle driven by Highland Park, Illinois resident Talia R. Ugolini, 23.

She told the officer that she had been walking in a parking garage in Columbia on May 28 when she saw the keys in the ignition of the vehicle.

Ugolini allegedly told the officer she took the car because she ‘needed to get to Kansas City’ and said that she planned on dropping the vehicle off at a police station when she got to her destination.

Troopers searched the stolen vehicle and reported finding marijuana, a grinder and a pipe with burnt residue inside of Ugolini’s bags.

Ugolini is now charged with felony first degree tampering with a motor vehicle. She also faces a misdemeanor count each for drug and paraphernalia possession.

She appeared Thursday for arraignment and had her case was continued to Wednesday, June 7 at 9:00 a.m. for a counsel status hearing.
