PETTIS COUNTY, MO – An arrest has been made as part of an investigation into a shooting on Goodwill Chapel Road in Pettis County May 9.
Sheriff Brad Anders said the bullet was fired through the door of a vehicle and struck a bystander. The victim complained of abrasions on the abdomen caused by the shot, but no serious injury.
The discharge allegedly happened during a struggle for the firearm inside the vehicle, involving Dustin Arnold, 25, who was taken into custody. He fled the scene, but was later located after the Sheriff’s office posted some of his Facebook content. In a post the next day, Sheriff Anders commended the public for their information leading to the rapid arrest of the suspect.
Formal charges are pending.
