HIGGINSVILLE – Higginsville police helped detain three suspects wanted for their possible involvement in a shooting in Independence.
A post from the police department was notified by the Independence Police Department of the three subjects and their possible whereabouts in the city on Jan. 13. The same day five officers and two Lafayette County deputies located and arrested the subjects at a residence in Higginsville, collected evidence at the scene and released the three to Independence detectives.
One of the suspects has been charged with second degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.
