Columbia, MO – A Columbia Missouri man is arrested after several people called police reporting he was threatening crowds of people with a nine inch blade. The incident started last night (June 12) around 8:30 at 33 N. Ninth St.
When Columbia police arrived they spotted the suspect with the knife, who then took off running while yelling for officers to shoot him.
Police said 28-year-old Gabriel Falls of Columbia was apprehended in the 800 block of East Broadway where he dropped the knife but continued to resist arrest. Officers used their taser and made a forceable arrest.
Falls was taken to an area hospital to be evaluated. Police said Falls will be charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon, assault on a law enforcement officer, property damage and felony resisting.
