GENTRY COUNTY, MO – A St. Joseph resident was killed north of Stanberry Sunday night.
State troopers were at the scene of Route B, four miles from Stanberry, at the site of a UTV rollover crash. Three occupants received injuries, including Adrian Warner, 41, who died at the scene. An incident report says, the UTV, driven by Michael Shanks, 23, of Stanberry, drove off the road, struck a culvert, and returned to the roadway, after which the vehicle overturned multiple times. Shanks, and an occupant, Zachary Chesser, 25, of Savannah, were treated for serious injuries at Mosaic Life Care.
Charges against Shanks are being sought, including driving while intoxicated involving the death of another, and unlawful operation of a UTV on a highway.
