CAMERON, Mo. — A 911 call early Friday morning led to five carjacking arrests.
The Cameron Police and Emergency Management reports that they received they call during the early hours of the morning Friday. Five suspects were reportedly searching through vehicles in the 600 block of North Groat Street.
Once officers arrived on scene, the suspects allegedly attempted to flee by speeding away in vehicle than had been reported stolen in St. Joseph and a pursuit initiated.
The chase ended after spike strips were laid in the roadway just south of Cameron, causing the stolen vehicle to stop.
Cameron Police along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol took the five suspects into custody.
Residents in the North Groat Street neighborhood that suspect that their vehicles were broken into are encouraged to contact the Cameron Police Department.
