SALINE COUNTY, Mo – According to online records with the Missouri Court system a Slater man was held arraignment Friday, July 29, 2016 over multiple charges.
According to a probable cause statement obtained from the Saline County Circuit Court Anthony Venable of Slater, 32, was detained by a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper after he allegedly threatened his father with a large knife. The statement details that Venable had made contact with his father and began to argue with him, then becoming angry and stabbing a barstool in an angry and threatening manner. A woman witnessed the incident and contacted authorities, fearing for her life and for Venable’s father. He was then placed on a 24=hour hold pending formal charges in the Saline County Jail.
According to docket entries an arraignment was held Friday, July 29 for three separate charges; unlawful use of a weapon, 3rd degree domestic assault, and 3rd degree elder abuse. Venable’s case is to be continued Wednesday, August 3.
