PETTIS COUNTY, MO – A Pettis County man accused of armed criminal action faced arraignment yesterday in an initial appearance in Circuit Court.
Law enforcement responded to a disturbance in Pettis County Friday, at 513 Sunset Drive which led to formal charges against Scovern Norris, 31, of Sedalia. Officers found Norris standing over a resident of the house with a knife and scissors. He later resisted efforts by police to arrest him, and at one point, attempted to bite an officer.
Police allege Norris has a history of domestic assault. New charges include felonies for kidnapping, armed criminal action, and unlawful weapons use. A future hearing of the matter is set for June 25.
