SEDALIA, MO – A man is newly charged in Pettis County days after being released from prison on parole.
According to court records, Corey T. Owens, listed as homeless, was served a warrant Tuesday for recent charges of kidnapping, assault and drug possession. A probable cause statement suggests Owens attempted to kidnap a small girl visiting at the residence in which he was staying in Sedalia. Owens had been previously convicted of assault, theft, and drug possession. During Owens’ arrest Saturday, officers also confiscated a substance they described as methamphetamine.
Bond was increased Tuesday from $100,000 to $250,000 cash or surety. Future court dates are pending.
