KANSAS CITY, MO – Charges were filed today in federal court against two Mexican nationals believed to be suspects who fled authorities during a raid in Daviess County in late August.

A criminal complaint identifies Sergio Medina-Perez, 44, and Miguel Pulido-Maldonado, 27, as Mexican citizens who had lived in California prior to being in Missouri. Multiple area law enforcement agencies, including the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Bureau of Alcohol and Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives had been involved in a prior raid on property in the area of 285th Street and Unity Avenue in Daviess County, August 27. Medina-Perez, and Pulido-Maldonado were arrested in the days after the raid, near the grow site, at which authorities confiscated nearly 10 million dollars worth of marijuana plants. Officers located approximately 2,464 cultivated marijuana plants. With an approximate street value of $1,800 per pound of marijuana, this results in approximately $9,757,440 in marijuana plants seized.

They have been held on immigration detainers since their arrest. Both were charged with manufacturing and distributing marijuana.
