COLE COUNTY, Mo. — DNA from a Jefferson City man, acquitted in three 2015 rape cases, has been implicated in another Columbia rape case.

Jemell Butler, VINELink
21-year-old Jemell Butler was charged Monday with first degree rape for an April 8, 2017 incident near Oak Street in downtown Columbia.
A female victim claims she was drinking at a bar in the area and did not recall leaving with the suspect.
The woman reportedly escaped being assaulted in an alley and ran for help. DNA from previous felony arrests matched Butler to evidence recovered in the latest Columbia attack.
Butler is currently being held without bond at the Cole County Jail.
