MOBERLY, MO – A Higbee resident was injured during a vehicle crash this afternoon.
Missouri Highway Patrol arrested Joseph Ellis, 68, for driving while under the influence of drugs after an accident was reported three miles southwest of Moberly on southbound Route A. The vehicle reportedly struck a utility pole and fence off the roadway. He was placed in the custody of Randolph County law enforcement, held without bond. Ellis was transported to University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Additional citations included careless and imprudent driving.
