SEDALIA, Mo. — A Sedalia man is facing a felony charge after reports of a child sex crime.
According to a probable cause statement, a female victim under the age of 16 and her father came to the police station on July 19 to report that she had been sodomized by a family friend on June 23. During the investigation, the victim disclose that Quintin Long, 55, of Sedalia had made inappropriate contact with her while she was staying at his home.
Further investigation found text messages on her phone from Long. The messages urged the victim not to tell anyone and made other inappropriate comments.
Officers found Long at his place of work and brought him in for questioning. Long admitted he had sodomized the child during the interview.
According to online court documents, Long faces one felony count of 2nd degree statutory sodomy. He was being held in the Pettis County Sheriff’s Department until he posted the $75,000 cash or surety bond.
Long is scheduled to appear in the Pettis County Court on August 1 at 9:00 a.m. for a hearing.
