CLINTON COUNTY, Mo. — A Clinton County traffic stop led to the arrest of two people on Wednesday night.
According to the probable cause statement, a trooper with the Missouri State Highway Patrol pulled over a vehicle after it failed to stop at a stop sign. The driver Benjamin W. Clark had a revoked license and his passenger was acting suspicious.
A second vehicle driven by Felicia Ward, 21, of Cameron, arrived at the scene and she stated she wanted to take her daughter from the vehicle driven by Clark. As she collected the two year old, she took a purse out of Clark’s vehicle. Later investigation found approximately 309 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale, a loaded handgun, and over $4,000 cash.
Both Clark and Ward were charged with first degree drug trafficking, unlawful use of a weapon, endangering the welfare of a child, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Ward will appear in the Clinton County Court on June 7 and Clark will appear on June 13 for hearings.
