HOWARD COUNTY, MO – A man accused of injuring three persons through neglect during a vehicle accident last year, will now face an arraignment after the case was bound over to circuit court.

A preliminary hearing was waived in a case against Justin Ewings, 26, of New Franklin.  He is accused of endangering the welfare of a child after a vehicle crash on Route Z, a mile west of Highway 87, in Howard County in June of 2016.  A probable cause statement indicates Ewings was highly intoxicated during the crash, which influenced the wreck.  Three nieces of the defendant were occupants in the vehicle.  One received injuries in the crash.

Ewings is charged with counts of child endangerment, assault, and leaving the scene of a crash.  Arraignment is scheduled, April 5 in Howard County.  Bond is set at $5,000.
