Drugs and resisting cause for arrest in Macon

MACON, Mo.- According to a police report from the Macon Police Department, a Macon resident was arrested last week for resisting arrest and drug allegations.

On Tuesday, January 24, 2017, an officer with the Macon Police department attempted to make enforcement contact with a white Chevrolet Impala on Briggs Drive for a registration violation. The vehicle, driven by a male subject, later identified as Nathan M. Gehringer, 36, fled from the officer westbound on Briggs with a passenger also in the vehicle.

A chase ensued with Gehringer’s vehicle, nortbound on Gantz, Macon Lake Road, and finally on Lake Street, where Gheringer exited his vehicle in the brush in attempt to evade the police. The officer was able to overtake Gehringer and place him in custody.

Upon further investigation, the officer allegedly located and siezed controlled substances believed to be marijuana and methamphetamine. Gehringer, after identified, was found to have a warrant out of Linn County and also a revoked license.

Gehringer was transported to the Macon County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of formal charges. Charges include: Felony resisting arrest, possession of marijuana-prior drug offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, and multiple traffic charges.

Bond has been set at $10,000 cash only.
