SPRINGFIELD, MO – A Nevada woman pleaded guilty Monday to selling methamphetamine in exchange for food stamp benefits.
The plea was entered by Julie Drake, 48, to charges alleging attempted meth distribution, and wire fraud. Drake reportedly frequented retailers in Bates and Vernon Counties purchasing grocery items with EBT cards belonging to other individuals.
An investigation revealed the owners of the cards purchased quantities of meth from Drake. Officers confiscated nearly 100 grams of meth packaged for distribution at her residence.
A sentencing hearing has not been scheduled.
