COLUMBIA, Mo.- The Missouri Highway Patrol says charges will be filed over a pursuit with a child in the car in Columbia.
The report says a trooper attempted to stop Corey Knowles, 32, of Columbia, Mo., at Highway 63 and Broadway around 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Knowles sped away with La-Niya Wallace, 4, in the car.
Knowles crashed into a ditch when he attempted to exit at Grindstone. Knowles and the child fled on foot before being stopped by Columbia Police.
Knowles was at University Hospital and his daughter at Women’s and Children’s Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. According to the arrest report, Knowles is being charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and felony resisting arrest by fleeing.
