KIRKSVILLE, Mo – Identities have been released regarding an alleged shooting at a Kirksville hotel.
Police officers responded to Days Inn on Baltimore Street in the late evening Thursday, upon reports of shots fired. The body of Echo Welte, 41, of Kirksville was found in the parking lot. She died of a gunshot wound to the head. The suspect Danny Welte, 40, was taken into custody early Friday morning.
One witness to the incident said she was the daughter of the victim and suspect.
