RICHMOND, Mo.- A male and female suspect were arrested and formally charged after a lengthy police pursuit that ended in Ray County. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol Eric David Glidwell, 39, of St. Joseph, Mo., and Megan Briann Dugan, 26, of Faucett, Mo., were the occupants of the Chevy pickup involved in the pursuit.
According to the probable cause statement, a trooper with the Missouri Highway Patrol, attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Garner Road, north of business route 10 in Richmond. The vehicle failed to stop after being alerted and accelerated.
Glidewell, driver of the vehicle, drove on several city streets and county roads. He continued to drive carelessly with out regard to the motoring public, failed to stop for several stop signs, failed to drive on the right half of the roadway and exceeded posted speed limit. The initial pursuit lasted approximately eight minutes until the trooper lost Glidwell and the vehicle on Fairway Road.

Another trooper was able to locate the Chevy pickup in a field north of Fairway Road. Several units responded to the area and established a perimeter. After perimeter was set up a trooper located Glidwell and Dugan exiting a wooded area at around 10:30 a.m. The two subjects were then detained.
After search of the vehicle, officers located several small crystals on the driver’s seat which tested positive for methamphetamine. In a console on the dashboard, a small plastic bag containing leafy green plant material was found and tested positive for marijuana. Also in the dashboard console a metal pipe which contained burnt marijuana residue was found.
Female passenger, Dugan, was able to identify the drive of the Chevy pickup and also stated that she told Glidwell to pull over, however he continued to accelerate.
A check of Glidwell’s criminal history revealed prior felony conviction for resisting arrest through the Nodaway County Circuit Court in February of 2015. Glidwell was found guilty of misdemeanor resisting arrest through the Buchanan County Circuit Court.
As a result of the pursuit, Glidwell is being charged with felony possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams of marijuana, felony resisting arrest/detention/stop by fleeing-creating a substantial risk of serious injury/death to any person, misdemeanor possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana, misdemeanor unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor operating a vehicle with no insurance, misdemeanor failure to stop for a stop sign and failure to properly fasten or maintain motor vehicle plates.
Dugan is being charged with felony possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana and unlawful use of drug parpahernalia.
Both Glidwell and Dugan are in custody at the Ray County Jail. Bond amount for both defendants is $10,000 cash or corporate surety. Court dates are still pending.
