
Branden J. Truss, 20, of Columbia is accused of firing a gun at four woman and two young children, following an argument in the early morning hours of August 28, 2016.
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Columbia Police Department is reporting that an arrest has been made in relation to shots fired on Bodie Drive over the weekend.
According to the press release detectives arrested Branden J. Truss in the 400 block of Rangeline Street for alleged Armed Criminal Action, and Domestic Assault in the 1st Degree. Bond for those charges are yet to be set.
Truss was also charged with two counts of Endangering the Welfare of Children in the 2nd Degree. Bond for that is set at $9,000.
He also faces charges of First-Degree Assault with bond to be set, as well as Property Damage in the 1st degree with a $4,500 bond, and Felony Unlawful Use of Weapons, with a bond of $4,500.
Reportedly, at 1:15 a.m. Sunday, officers were flagged down by four females at Hitt Street and Broadway. The women reported that a male, known to them, had allegedly pointed a gun at them during an argument. All four victims left the downtown area and reportedly went to the 1400 block of Bodie Drive.
A short time later the four victims, ranging in ages of 19 to 21 years old and two children, ages four and three months old, were outside the residence talking in the driveway when Truss, and two other male suspects, allegedly started shooting at them.
The victims ran inside. No one was injured. One of the female victims a 19-year-old was in a relationship with Truss. Officers arrived on the scene and found two bullet holes in one of the victims vehicles.
The other two male suspects have not yet been arrested
