Miller County crash injures two, leads to one driver’s arrest

MILLER COUNTY, Mo. — A Miller County accident injured two people Saturday night. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, William A. Stiller, 61, of Versailles, was driving a Mercury Mariner eastbound on U.S. Route 54, east of Route MM, at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4. His vehicle was traveling westbound (the wrong direction) in the eastbound lanes and struck a Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Robert E. Nowlin, 82, of Mexico, Missouri. Stiller was minorly injured and refused treatment at the scene. Nowlin was moderately injured and transported to Capital Region by Miller County EMS for treatment.

An additional Missouri State Highway Patrol report states Stiller was arrested at 11:40 p.m. for DWI – drugs – causing physical injury and driving the wrong direction on a highway divided into two or more roadways, resulting in an accident. Stiller was processed at Miller County Jail and released.
