CAMERON, MO – Cameron police were at the scene of a lengthy standoff Friday evening, involving an armed suspect.
According to police, responders evacuated a residence and some neighbors in the region of Grand Avenue and Short Avenue following initial reports of domestic assault. A standoff ensued between negotiators and a subject armed with a rifle, who reportedly climbed into the attic of the home. Eventually, the suspect surrendered to law enforcement without further incident.
Agencies from several surrounding counties were present at the scene.
