RAY COUNTY, Mo. — Formal charges are being considered after a near head-on collision in Ray County Tuesday afternoon.
The crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Highway 210, just west of Route EE, when Chanda R. Woods, 32, of Richmond, crossed the center line and hit a westbound vehicle driven by Jacob Shivers, 30, of Rayville. Both drivers were moderately injured and transported by EMS to metro hospitals.
Woods has been arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol for careless driving, three counts of felony drug possession, misdemeanor drug possession, driving while intoxicated, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and failure to register a vehicle. She has been released from custody, according to the patrol’s arrest report. Formal charges are pending.
The collision shut down the highway for several hours, according to Ray County Emergency Management’s text alert system. The road was reopened around 9:30 p.m.
