CHILLICOTHE, Mo. — One man has been arrested after being connected to a pursuit Tuesday. Two other suspects are still at large, according to local police.
According to Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cox, it began when an pickup was stolen in Lafayette County during the morning hours. A sighting of the stolen vehicle was reported in Carroll County, which led to a pursuit.
The stolen car was chased into Livingston County and reportedly crashed on private property.All suspects fled on foot. The firearm used in the theft has not been located.
Officers from multiple agencies converged on the area and began to pursue a Kia that fled from law enforcement and went into Chariton County. That driver was not part of the initial suspects wanted, but is believed to have been called to pick up one or more of the suspects. That individual was reportedly taken to the Chariton County Jail.
Large areas of Livingston County were searched and Jesse M. Monreal, 35, of Kansas was found hiding near Livingston County roads 437 and 4304.
A short time after Monreal’s arrest, authorities say two women from Kansas City area arrived in a black colored Dodge Charger and were briefly detained and interviewed. The women had been reportedly summoned by Monreal to pick him up.
The women have since been released and may face criminal charges, according to Sheriff Cox.
Monreal is now incarcerated in the Daviess-Dekalb Regional Jail for alleged receiving stolen property and resisting arrest. As of 5:50 p.m. the other two suspects have not been located.
Citizens are reminded to stay vigilant, as the other suspects remain at large.
