Officer Justin Fox
KIRKSVILLE, Mo – A Kirksville police officer, Justin Fox has received a Distinguished Service Award for his action during a traffic stop in July.
Officer Fox attempted to stop an Ottumwa, Iowa man driving an unlicensed motorcycle near the intersection of Elson and Potter.
Joseph Bibby, was charged with felony assault on law enforcement, felony possession of a controlled substance, felony unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, resisting arrest, and possession of a defaced firearm.
According to Fox’s report of the incident, he faced fire from a pistol in Bibby’s possession during the standoff, which lasted for three hours.
