Hecker sentenced for standoff in Chillicothe

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mo. – A Chillicothe man was sentenced on July 15th, to 19 years in prison for an incident involving a standoff in 2017.

Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren said that Aaron Dorney Hecker, 33, received consecutive sentences of fifteen years for assault in the second degree and four years for resisting arrest. Two Chillicothe officers allowed into a residence in August of 2017 to serve an arrest warrant, were confronted by an armed Hecker. Shots were fired when he failed to comply with commands to put the gun down. The ensuing standoff lasted for nearly four hours.

Hecker pleaded guilty to the charges in March of 2019.
