MOBERLY, Mo. – A K-9 from the Missouri Highway Patrol helped Moberly officers find a suspect hiding in a pond Friday night. The news release from Moberly says Christopher J. Smith was wanted on two Randolph County warrants when he ran out the back door of a residence at Allendale Manor Housing Complex. Officers chased Smith into a nearby wooded area, where the K-9 found Smith’s head sticking out of the water in a local pond. Police say this is the fourth occasion where Smith resisted arrest by fleeing on foot.
The warrants were for stealing and domestic assault in the 2nd degree.
