Suspect charged with multiple felonies after standoff with Adair County authorities

ADAIR COUNTY — A suspect has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies after a lengthy standoff with law enforcement near Novinger.

According to the arrest report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the suspect, identified as Kendal J. Tade, 51, of Novinger was arrested just after midnight Saturday.

KTVO in Kirksville reported that Highway 6 West between Highway 149 and Route K near Novinger were closed for multiple hours while authorities attempted to apprehend Tade. The roadway has since been reopened.

Tade has been preliminarily charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon, felony resisting arrest and felon in possession of a firearm, which is also a felony. He was also charged with numerous traffic violations.

Tade was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was placed on a 24 hour hold while awaiting formal charges.
