RANDOLPH COUNTY, Mo. – A Fulton man who attempted to take the arresting officers weapon has a hearing in Randolph County today.
Derek Samuel Birge
Derek S. Birge, 33, was arrested in January of this year for alleged possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia in Moberly. During that arrest, Birge was accused of attacking one officer and attempting to take the officers service weapon. Additional charges of attempted escape, armed criminal action and assault on law enforcement was added to his charges.
Birge has a motion hearing starting at 9:00 this morning.
