BOONE COUNTY, MO – Law enforcement in Boone County shot and injured a suspect while responding to a reported burglary Monday afternoon.
Deputies with Boone County Sheriff pursued two suspects on foot from a residence on Schooner Road, terminating at Meadowlark Lane. According to a press release, one suspect, Deaundre E. Lewis-Gatewood, 24, pointed a firearm at a deputy, prompting deputies to fire on the suspect. Lewis-Gatewood received treatment for non life threatening injuries at an area hospital, and was later transferred to Boone County Jail. Charges are being sought for burglary, armed criminal action, and resisting arrest. The second suspect is still at large.
