CHILLICOTHE, MO – An arraignment scheduled for last week was postponed until June 20 in a case against an Illinois man who fled from Livingston County deputies.
According to the Livingston County Sheriff, Missouri Highway Patrol also assisted in the capture of Estevan Arteaga, 17, of Bolingbrook, IL, May 26. A deputy reportedly clocked the vehicle moving at 89 mph near Utica on 36 Highway, and gave chase. The 14-mile pursuit ended after Missouri Highway Patrol used spike strips near Hamilton, which disabled the vehicle. Of the seven men in the van, two were arrested, including Arteaga, and Jose Moreno of Chicago, for drug paraphernalia possession. An oil substance confiscated during the search is being identified by Highway Patrol.
Arteaga faces a felony for resisting arrest. Arraignment was rescheduled to June 20.
