WARRENSBURG, MO – Several charges were filed Monday against the driver of a minivan that crashed into a school bus over the weekend.
Court documents indicate, Coley Gene Waters, 48, is charged with felonies for driving while intoxicated, two counts of 2nd degree assault, and leaving the scene of an accident. He is accused of not yielding to a bus which overturned during the crash, injuring eight students. It occurred at a median crossover at 50 Highway and Route Z in northwest Johnson County. Bond has been set at $50,000 cash only.
Initial arraignment is scheduled Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in Warrensburg.
