Traffic stop results in drug allegations against Ohio and West Virginia residents

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo. — Two out-of-state residents are behind bars in Lafayette County after being pulled over and found with drugs early Saturday morning.

According to a report from the Missouri Highway Patrol, a traffic stop around 2:17 a.m. in Lafayette County resulted in charges for Thomas R. Meacham, 36, of Charleston, West Virginia, and Andrea E. Collins, 38, of Wellston, Ohio.

Both face allegations of felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, Meacham was allegedly driving without a valid license.

Collins and Meacham were taken to the Lafayette County Jail for a 24-hour investigative hold, pending the filing of formal charges.
